So, I'm at a local grocery store and run across a package of ground rhus. Not familiar with the botanical name? That's sumac. (The seeds, not the leaves)

What exactly does one cook with rhus?

I have a recipe that calls for sumac. It's in the filling for mideastern spinach pies. We had a mideastern restaurant here that had spinach pies to die for. But the place went out of business and so I looked up recipes for the pies but I've never made any yet.
