I've been behind in everything. This was "social week-end", so I got basically nothing done writing wise.
Got the pear tree all trimmed up. The reward for doing it oneself is this:

Also had the locks redone today as well as the new exterior light fixtures installed. We went with a pro on those and it turned out to be a good thing, since the pendant by our front door wasn't actually attached to a junction box. It was just wired up to a piece of wood slid into the opening. We weren't too surprised, since the wiring in the house is pretty bad.
So here's what the old fixtures looked like. These are supposed to be brass, but the finish is so bad that... (insert joke here)

Anyhow, the new fixtures look much better, and we did our part to stimulate the economy.
I also spent a good deal of time transplanting, got new abelias in the ground, moved the hellebores, gaura, hydrangea, and geraniums. I hope to transplant some chrysanthemums tomorrows.
And finally, for the first time my lenten rose has decided to put on lovely blooms.
