OK, it is a sale...

Evidently, the editor of this anthology is doing the contracts in a big batch, so he hasn't sent out any of them yet. I feel relieve to know I didn't put the thing in the recycle bin. So, I guess you would call it a sale after all.

I put in 2.5 K yesterday on my still un-named short story. Since the limit is 5K, I suppose I'm halfway done with the rough draft. There's a lot of silly symbols in there right now...as in We sailed south of @@@, past the island of ###, on our way toward $$$. I have to go back and consult maps and my research to fill things in, but the bones of the story are there. Glad I'm getting it done..because I now only have four stories out.

Must have five at all time....must have five at all times...Must have five at all times!

Small, small, world...on NPR

I'm listening to NPR this evening, and there's a story about feral camels in the outback. Among other people, they interviewed a man who wants to start a camel safari crew (probably out of Alice Springs).

It was our camel guide, Sam Watkins. Small World! Sam was our guide on a week-long camel trek we took a couple of years ago, filling in for the owner. We puttered around the Stony Desert, north of Coober Pedy.

Husband called a moment later..."Uh, Was that...?"
